Dear GT Friends,
As you probably know, I´m working on a crazy project:
Turbo engine (Manfred is finishing the wires)
Power steering
6 speed gearbox
Porsches brakes
Last week-end, we start the Targa modification

I want to contact someone who made the same engine modification (C20LET) with a targa kit.
So if you can help me, many thanks in advance

Hi Marc,
did You weld the supporting brackets in place before cutting the roof?
Radnor is the right one to tell You the difficulties.

Hallo Stephan,
All the kit items were welded and all the bodyshell was also welded like a rally car and Klaus (Radnor) gave me some steel parts to make it stronger.
And than, we cutted the roof.
If I remember well someone on the Forum made a targa with a C20LET engine, and I don´t know if he made a tubular structure ( like rally) inside the car<img src=http://www.forumcoder.de/images/smilies/huh.gif border=0 alt=´häää?´>

Hello Marc,
I also want to put a C20LET in my GT, I got a 265 5 speed getrag waiting to be mounted, but how do you fit your 6 speed to the C20LET?
Do you have pics of changes you made to make the engine fit? I would be happy to see them.

Hello Marco,
I shall put some pics when I´ll receive the gearbox back.
I cutted the bellhousing and I welded The right one.
But the most dificulty is the gear stick position.

Hi Theo,
The C20LET engine is a 2.0L DOHC Turbo from Calibra 4X4.....Or Vectra 4X4 .

Hi Marc,
What kind of changes did you make to get the engine fit inside the GT, I had to make changes on the steering and the fire wall to get the engine fit, did you made also changes to get your body stronger or only changes for the targa?
I am still having doubt on wich gearbox I am gonna use, I got the Manta 1800 gearbox, got the getrag 265 and can also get the 4-speed overdrive from a rekord. Who van give me advice? For the getrag 265 do I have another bellhousing but not the plate to get these together Who has got the right measurements?

Are there some news about this project? It sounds very interessting, espacially the part with the 6 speed gear box at the c20let in the GT. Has anybody pics of this or a simmular car?
